Data Center
Server99's Internet Data Center (IDC) was engineered from the ground up to serve as a 24/7, zero-downtime, cutting-edge datacenter facility. We carefully selected our facility's location to provide added protection and facilitate the task of building a redundant data center facility.
The Server99 Internet Data Center is located in the heart of downtown Columbus , Ohio , USA . 180 East Broad Street or "The Borden Building" is a known telecommunications "hotel", being home to over 16+ telecommunications carriers, it is one of the most connected buildings in central Ohio . Located on the 10 th floor we are only feet away from high-capacity SONET fiber and regional network points of presence (POPs) for providers such as MCI/WorldCom, Qwest, Time Warner Telecommunications, XO Communications, Dominion Telecom, AT&T, SBC/Ameritech, ATDN, and many more!
The telecommunications and "fiber friendly" characteristics within the building enabled us to build a completely redundant facility to house our network infrastructure. We own and operate our own facility - we do not co-locate with other companies, we believe the 100% owner/operator concept is the only way to fully support clients within a Managed Hosting business model and provide the true reliability and uptime often lacking with other managed service providers.
Security
Our datacenter facility is physically secure from everyone other than our authorized service team and management personnel. We implement a three-phase security system that is in place 24/7. Only personnel with building access cards are authorized to enter the building, access to our floor is restricted to employees only, and access to our datacenter is further restricted to service and management staff. The building has 24/7 camera surveillance and security guards.
Location
We selected Columbus because of its large attraction to Service related companies, many large corporations such as Nationwide Insurance, Borden Industries, Wendy's, and Huntington Bank share Columbus , Ohio as their corporate headquarters. Columbus is seismically stable, and free from large natural disasters.
Power
Our datacenter facility is fed conditioned power from datacenter-grade UPS (Uninterruptible Power Systems). These systems are configured in an N+1 redundancy mode, if for any reason a battery power plant should fail, instantaneous, online switchover to the protected side of the system will occur. For extended utility power outages, our UPS systems are fed to our own diesel generator hook-up providing conditioned power, and power capacity dedicated to our datacenter facility in the event of an emergency.
Environment
Server farms require precision HVAC systems to keep optimal environmental conditions for the equipment to function error free. We operate an N+1 configuration on our Liebert HVAC systems - this gives us a hot-spare should any unit fail, or need to be shutdown for scheduled maintenance. We selected Liebert because of their high ranking within the telecommunications industry and their outstanding service and reliability. We take our environmental systems extremely seriously. Many facilities run a common heat exchange system between many to all HVAC units within a datacenter - our system is configured to use domestic utility water in the event of a heat exchange system failure. The system features redundant heat exchange systems, and loop pumps to ensure that under any circumstances our facility remains at 69° F @ 40% humidity.
